New Delhi: A Manipuri woman alleged that she has been racially harassed by the officials at Indira Gandhi International airport’s immigration desk in Delhi on Monday.

“I would like the authorities to take necessary action. I am planning to write to Ministry of External affairs about this,” said Monika Khangembam.

Citing that such type of treatment is unacceptable, sister of the woman demanded the concerned authorities to look into the matter.

“It is unfortunate that my sister carrying Indian passport was asked by the immigration officer about her nationality,” she said.

Regarding the incident, the home affairs minister Kiren Rijiju said he had received the received report on the matter.

The minister assured that action will be taken as per the report details.
