New Delhi: The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday said that imposing restrictions under prevailing circumstances has become an ‘inevitability’ to avoid violent protests.

In a meeting with the members of civil society, Mehbooba Mufti said that some elements are hell bent upon fomenting trouble, mayhem and bloodshed in Kashmir for their vested interests.

“Unfortunately some elements are hell bent upon fomenting trouble, mayhem and bloodshed in Kashmir for their vested interests and are playing with the lives of the innocent youth by instigating them to indulge in extreme violence,” Mufti said.

Mehbooba Mufti also warned Pakistani agents for disturbing the peace within the valley and said people’s cooperation is needed to end the vicious cycle of violence. She asked the ministers and other govt functionaries to reach out to the public.

The Jammu and Kashmir police and paramilitary forces have been asked to exercise maximum restrain to avoid loss of lives or grievous injuries, the Jammu and Kashmir CM said.
