New Delhi: Most people see going to the Ganges to wash themselves off of all their sins as a religious taxation, something holy but unavoidable. Now, with India Post introducing bottled ‘Gangaajal’ (Holy Water) to each doorstep in the country, that ritual might slowly change.

Union Ministers Manoj Sinha and Ravi Shankar Prasad on Sunday announced new scheme that will enable all post offices to give ‘Gangaajal’ to the people. On top of that, India Post will deliver bottled ‘Gangaajal’ at every nook and corner of a state.

“Right now only holy Ganga water from Gangotri and Rishikesh will be delivered to the people across the country by India Post,” said Manoj Sinha, who claimed that once the Ganga water in Sultanganj, Bihar has been cleaned, the postal department will then be able to do the delivery.
