IAF's move to deny permanent commission is "biased, discriminatory, arbitrary and unreasonable": Pooja Thakur

New Delhi: Wing Commander Pooja Thakur, who gave the guard of honour to United States President Barack Obama at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in January 2015, on Thursday approached the Armed Forces Tribunal after Indian Air Force denied her the permanent commission.
In her response to the Indian Air Froce, WG Thakur has taken the issue to the Armed Forces Tribunal. Thakur in a petition has said that IAF's move to deny her permanent commission is "biased, discriminatory, arbitrary and unreasonable". Meanwhile, Air Force has reportedly been asked to respond in four weeks.
According to reports, there are several legal issues that have come to light and that is precisely the reason why she has been denied the permanent position.
Indian Air Force is now conflicting the MoD officials and depending on the inputs from the Defence Minister and Raksha Rajya Mantri, further decision will be taken.
