New Delhi: In the All Party Meeting called by the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar on Sunday, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said that the Congress Party will not obstruct the passage of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) bill.
Azad's comment came as a decisive nod for the government at the Centre who were hitherto stuck in an impasse over the passage of the GST bill.
"We will let the bills pass on the basis of merit and will not obstruct passage of bills," said the Congress leader to the press gathered outside.

Ahead of the Monsoon Parliament Session, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government is looking for a safe passage for one of the most controversial and talked-about bills passed in the parliament. Congress had earlier said that it would relax its demand about a tax cap on GST bill if its other demands are met.
The meeting was attended by prominent figures like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and other leaders from various parties.
