New Delhi: Newly appointed BJP vice-president Dayashankar Singh's remark received a stern reaction from everyone in the Rajya Sabha. Satish Chandra Mishra demanded action against Dayashankar Singh under SC/ST Act.
Leaders of Congress party, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Trinamool Congress (TMC), Bahaujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Janata Dal United (JDU) created ruckus over Una incident in Gujarat where a Dalit family was attacked, following which the house was adjourned.
The Congress party leaders even came into well encircling the government on the issue. Initially the house was adjourned for 10 minutes, but following the chaos by the opposition, the house was adjourned till 12 pm.
Earlier during question hour, speaking over the NSG issue, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said, “Wrong to say that we created hype. When we gave application on 12/5/16, we did it low-key. Yes, we made full effort after that. It was China which created procedural hurdle about non-NPT states entering NSG. We are trying to engage with China and we haven't stopped, but don’t mean they won't agree, if they didn't once. Should I say GST won't be passed because Congress has been creating hurdles? Does it mean they won't agree ever? Engagement is still on."
