New Delhi: Following the huge ruckus in the monsoon session of the Parliament over the Una incident in Gujarat, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said, “We strongly condemn the Una incident, Prime Minister has also toaken cognizance of the issue.”
Speaking about the action taken by the Gujarat government in the state, Rajnath Singh said, “Nine people have been arrested so far, four police officials suspended for negligence of duty.”
However, soon after Rajnath praised the Gujarat government for handling situation post Una incident, there was ruckus in the Lok Sabha, and Congress leaders walked out of the House.
Rajnath also said that during Congress rule in Gujarat, the numbers of cases of atrocities against Dalits were high but there has been a sharp decline since the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took over in the state.

“An atrocity against Dalits’ is a social evil. We must take it up as a challenge. Urge all parties to come together to fight this,” Rajnath added.
