New Delhi: A fire broke out at a chemical factory in Gujarat's Bharuch city on late Wednesday evening. More than seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

According to reports, the explosion took place at around 10 pm. The blast shattered the windows of the building and there were reportedly some workers present in the factory at the time of the blast.

The cause of the fire is not known yet.

On May 27, a blast at a chemical factory in Dombivli killed three and injured at least 159 people.

The blast sent shock waves up to 3-4 kilometres, damaging six other buildings. The mobile services were also disrupted.

Following the blast, Maharashtra govt announced that steps would be taken to ensure that such incidents don't happen in future.
