New Delhi: A 35-year-old woman and her 14-year-old daughter were raped by a gang of robbers in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr late Friday night. Fifteen suspects have been detained so far, Vaibhav Krishna, SSP said. The Kotwali Dehat sation officer Ram Sain Singh who was suspended earlier for his negligence in the case has been relieved from the charge of the case, he added.

The rape survivors were travelling to Shahjahanpur from Noida when their car was hit by an iron rod by the robbers who were hiding behind the bushes.
The incident happened near the Dostpur village at midnight.
The robbers took the family at gunpoint and forced them to drive into fields. The male members were isolated and that’s when the woman and her daughter were gangraped by the robbers. They snatched the money and some jewellery from the victims and fled.
The family managed to reach the nearest police station to file a complaint on Saturday.
DIG Lakshmi Singh said a case has been registered against the unknown men under Sections 376 D (gang-rape), 397 (robbery or dacoity with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt) and 395 (punishment for dacoity).
"We have formed six teams, three of them headed by circle officers, to probe the case and have launched a manhunt," DIG (Meerut range) Lakshmi Singh said. "A case has been lodged against unknown men under Sections 376 D (gang-rape), 397 (robbery or dacoity with attempt to cause death or grievous hurt) and 395 (punishment for dacoity)."
