Mysuru: The last rites of Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah's son Rakesh Siddaramaiah were performed on Monday in Mysuru.
Rakesh, 39, who was undergoing treatment for acute pancreatitis at Antwerp University Hospital, Brussels and was on ventilator support after undergoing a laparoscopic surgery for removal of gall bladder on Friday, passed away on Saturday due to multiple organ failure.
Rakesh had also undergone treatment for liver and pancreatic issues at a city hospital in Belgium.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier expressed his condolences and requested the Indian Ambassador to Belgium to assist Siddaramaiah's family in carrying out the legal formalities in bringing the body back to India.
