New Delhi: A woman was detained at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) on Tuesday morning, along with her 5-year-old son while on her way to Kabul, Afghanistan.
As per sources, she was believed to be leaving India in order to join Islamic State (IS). This is considered as a big lead for the police in terms of the case of 21 Kerala youth missing for the past month.
The 28-year old has been identified as Yasmeen Muhammed, belonging to Patna, Bihar. According to reports, the woman along with her child was to a board a flight to Kabul.
Yasmeen, a divorcee, was handed over to the special cell of Delhi Police and was later taken into custody by Kerala Police. A Kerala court has sent her to judicial custody.
It is believed that the woman was to join the group of the 21 Kerala youth who went missing and were speculated to have joined IS.
