New Delhi: Reported from Sector-51 on Sunday, a woman duty attendant at a prominent private hospital was alleged gangraped by two of her colleagues who worked alongside her.
The incident came to light for the police when some of the hospital employees registered complaint to the police about the alleged gangrape.
"A complaint was received to Gurgaon police control room by some hospital staff members about the gangrape, the police reached the spot and recorded the statement of victim. We have registered a case under section 376d (gangrape) and other relevant IPC sections in Woman police station in Gurgaon, following the statement of victim," said the ACP and PRO of Gurgaon Police, Hawa Singh.
Occurring on July 30 around 1 PM in the night, the woman duty attendant was dragged to a corner by the hospital supervisors, Mani Ram and Pradeep, and raped before being threatened with dire consequences if she raised an alarm. However, the woman told the staff about her ordeal and it was confirmed later by medical examination that she was gangraped.
Gurgaon Civil court has sent the duo to a 14-day judicial custody.
