Three persons were killed in Kashmir valley when security forces opened fire on the protesters

New Delhi: At least three persons were killed in Budgam and Baramulla district of Kashmir valley when security forces opened fire on the protesters after Friday prayers.

The deceased persons were identified as Muhammad Maqbool Wagay of Chadoora, Zahoor Ahmad of Beerwah in Budgam district and Daanish Rasool Mir of Wagoora area of Baramulla district.

According to police, Wagay and Zahoor were killed during protests in Baramulla district after prayers.

Daanish Rasool Mir of Wagoora was killed due to pellet injuries on his back.

On Wednesday, a protest march was held in south Kashmir tourist resort of Pahalgam where security forces stopped the march and fired teargas to disperse the protestors.

Protests were also held at Kulgam in south Kashmir. Dozens of marchers were wounded when security forces fired pellets at them.

Curfew was imposed by the authorities at many places across the valley to maintain law and order.
