Jammu: At least 4 pilgrims died and 8 were injured after a landslide occurred at Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra near Ardhkuwari Temple, Katra (Jammu and Kashmir). The temple comes in the middle of the Vaishno Devi yatra.
According to reports, the incident occurred following heavy rainfall in the night causing flash floods situation in the area. 3 pilgrims were hit by a big stone that rolled down near gate number-3 of the cave Mata vaishno devi shrine.
After the incident, the concerned authorities reached the spot and the injured were rushed to the Mata Vaishno Devi hospital. But unfortunately 4 pilgrims have died so far in the landslide.
Meanwhile, the authorities are figuring out how to bring the situation back to normal.
A week ago, Amarnath Yatra was also suspended after the Jammu-Srinagar national highway got blocked following a landslide.
