3 held for selling a woman for Rs 20,000

Barabanki: In a shocking incident reported from Barabanki, district of Uttar Pradesh, a former village head was arrested by the UP police for allegedly selling a woman for Rs 20,000.

As per official reports, a former village head along with two others was nabbed from Deva area for allegedly selling a woman. One of the accused who is identified as Ramkumar Yadav is former sarpanch of Sharifabad village.  The second accused Krishna Kumar and another unidentified third person were held by police for selling the woman aged about 40 for Rs 20,000.

Later, the victim was recovered from Krishna Kumar's house in Mangupur village in an unconscious state. The accused have been booked under relevant sections of IPC for human trafficking.
