Mumbai: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Monday issued a notice to Islamic preacher Zakir Naik and his Islamic Research Foundation (IRF) for violation of Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).

As per a Home Ministry official, ISR has been given 30 days time to reply to the notice.

Naik was in controversy recently after one of the terrorists behind Dhaka attacks claimed that his speeches had inspired him.

Mumbai police is investigating the case and booked Naik’s aides Arshi Qureshi and Rizwan Khan for forceful conversion and radicalisation on Monday.
