New Delhi: Former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul was found dead at his residence on Tuesday morning by officials. The former Arunachal CM was found hanging from the ceiling of his apartment.
Preliminary investigation into Kalikho Pul's death suggests the likelihood of suicide.
Pul, who was 46-years-old, had taken the post of Chief Minister for approximately four months when President's Rule was imposed in the state.
It is being alleged that Pul committed suicide at his apartment. It is not clear why the Congress rebel had decided to commit suicide.
Sources claim that Pul was suffering from severe depression after he was abruptly overthrown by the Supreme Court.

In an interview to the Indian Express, Pul had said,“I have made it a point to help all poor people in need of medical treatment. Go to my official quarter, you will find at least 30 people who have come all the way from my constituency for treatment in Itanagar."
After the Supreme Court delegitimised the imposition of President's Rule in Arunachal by calling it 'unconstitutional', Pul was then removed from the post of Chief Minister in the state.
