New Delhi: In another incision to the reputation of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), AAP legislator Kartar Singh was accused by Income Tax officials of holding assets worth Rs 130 crores that he cannot account for.
The accusation comes after Income Tax officials raided his residence last month searching for undeclared assets. Kartar Singh, who is 54-years-old, represents the Mehrauli constituency of South Delhi and is also a property dealer alongside.
Kartar Singh's residence in New Delhi was raided last month by Income Tax officials who alleged that the AAP member held undisclosed documents which prove that he was the owner of benami properties. Sources claimed that Singh had set up a dozen of shell companies to invest in different properties, some owned by his associates.
The Aam Aadmi Party, however, jumped to Kartar's defence by saying that it was all a ploy of the Centre to target the party in power in Delhi.
