Mumbai kidney sale racket: 5 doctors, CEO, Medical director sent to judicial custody till 13 Aug

Mumbai: In a major swoop, Mumbai police late on Tuesday arrested five top medicos of the reputed Dr L.H. Hiranandani Hospital here in connection with a kidney sale racket.
As per current reports, the five doctors including the CEO, Medical director of Hiranandani Hospital have been sent to police custody till 13 August by the Andheri Metropolitan court.
Further disclosing the matter through Ashok Dudhe, PRO, Mumbai police said the officials are collecting evidences and studying the documents recovered and further probe is under way.
Contacted for comment, an official spokesperson for Hiranandani Group told IANS that they are conducting their own internal probe and declined to comment till the investigation was completed.
Powai police late tonight nabbed the five medicos who include the 12-year old hospital management's top brass.
The accused will be produced for remand at Andheri Court on Wednesday. 
The Mumbai police had earlier initiated a probe after a recent complaint alleging a kidney sale racket in the prestigious 240-bed hospital in Powai, Mumbai.
