New Delhi: In a strange set of events a body of a 7-year-old boy was recovered from his neighbour's house residing in Lambada area of Malko village in Punjab late Monday night.
The deceased identified as Gurprit Chumber aka Gopi was found from his neighbour Mangat Ram's almirah with his hands and legs tied.
The deceased's father, Ashok Kumar, while disclosing the matter said that his son might have been killed for ‘black’ magic practice. Later, speaking on the matter the victim's uncle Nirmal told the police that 'Gopi' had gone for tuition at Ram Mangat's house but did not return till late evening. When his family members went to Ram's home to enquire, Ram said Gopi was studying and would return after some time.
When the family again went to enquire about their son, they found Ram's house locked. This is when the family became suspicious that something was amiss.
When the family failed to find their son they informed the police. After the police arrived at the scene and the door was broken, the parents found their son’s school bag. Also recovered from the scene were alcohol, a dead hen, lemon and garlands.
