Delhi: In an unfortunate incident, a 32-year man was run over by a mini goods carrier on Wednesday in Subhash Nagar, West Delhi. The accused driver of the goods carrier has been arrested by Delhi Police.
Further disclosing the matter, Pushpendra Kumar, Deputy Commissioner said that the accused has been identified as Rajesh Kumar Gupta, a milk supplier in Amul. The accused has been booked under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304 (Punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The incident took place in the Subhash Nagar area of the national capital when a man, later identified as Matbool, was hit by a speeding mini goods carrier. The victim kept lying on the road for four hours, but no passer-by came to his rescue. What is more shameful is that as he lay unconscious, one passer-by stole his phone and went away.
The victim Matbool was an e-rickshaw driver and also worked as a security guard at night. A police official later reached the spot and rushed the victim to hospital where he was declared brought dead by the doctors.
