New Delhi: Around fifteen people were injured and eight were instantly killed on Saturday when a heavy tanker rammed into a bus at the Yamuna Expressway on the outskirts of the National Capital.

The bus was standing immobile on the side-lane of the Yamuna Expressway after having an engine breakdown near Surir when the tanker purportedly rammed the bus from behind, sending the vehicle scuttling out of the highway.

Connecting Delhi to Agra, the Yamuna Expressway is a 165 km stretch with six lanes. Due to vehicles moving full speed on the lane, it is one of India’s most accident-prone highways.
