As the media buzzed with the news of the Jayalalitha’s  controversial acquittal from the disproportionate asset case on the 11th of May 2015, the political demography of the nation took a significant turn on that very hour. The much controversial case on Jayalalitha kept her out of the political arena for the last seven months, but helped her to relaunch her demigod image amongst her mammoth fan following in Tamil Nadu.

From the early morning media and the cohorts of AMMA flocked Poes Garden, Chennai. The incumbent CM’s massive cavalcade left her residence towards Madras University Centenary auditorium where Jayalalitha will be coronated as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu with her hand picked cabinet for the fifth time. A plethora of guests from several sections of the society attended the grand oath taking ceremony of Jayalaitha. Amidst of applause Jaya fetched her throne back. She became the uncontested legislative head and the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on 23.05.2015.

Political pundits believe the presence of Jayalaitha will not merely determine the development and evolution of the province of Tamil Nadu, it will also help the Modi Sarkar in gaining momentum in its trail of development at the onset of the second year of the Modi led government.

For the last seven months, all the developmental projects within Tamil Nadu has been stalled or moving at snail pace. The AMMA factor will definitely add fuel to several stacked projects, which includes the much awaited Chennai Metro Railway project. The entire administrative deadlock within the state will be resolved and several shelved projects will soon see the light of the day. Soon Tamil Nadu will cater the international business fraternity in a massive global business summit, due in September, deferred twice before. The ubiquity of AMMA will definitely boost the morale of the AIADMK supporters before the mega election season of Tamil Nadu.

Jayalalitha-Modi bonhomie was well recognized amongst the political spectrum. The acquittal of AMMA from the disproportionate asset case gave a window to BJP to reach out to AMMA for help to mobilize the key bills which were stalled by Cong led opposition in Rajya Sabha. At the same time BJP has to sacrifice their plans of making inroads in the southern province of India. The omnipresence of Jayalalitha is too large for the saffron brigade to counter. The absence of edgy leader who can spearhead the party and the difference of approach of the National and Regional leaders of BJP towards Jayalalitha is a big jolt for the saffron brigade to stamp the party’s presence in the Jaya’s domain.

Jayalalitha might shake hands with NDA and support them in the upper house to pass crucial bills in the upcoming Monsoon session of the Parliament. But the major blow comes to the prime opponent of AMMA, DMK. The Karunanidhi lead party already in deep soup as the 2G scam haunts some of the prominent leaders, like Kanimozi and D Raja. A massive gulf within the party has also undermined the party’s stand as the prime opponent over the passing years and will help AMMA to gain ground in the Dravidian domain.

JJ and the new regime in TN

The support for JJ at TN is an indicator of the BJP's greed, debasement, and opportunism. While the media will continue to pretend that the judgment in the JJ case has no BJP hand in it, ordinary people know precisely what happens in this country when political opportunism of people like Modi meets problem solving for criminal politicians like JJ. Fie to both DMK and AIADMK in this cursed state of TN.
