Bomb explosions hit the states of Assam and Manipur on Independence Day

New Delhi: Separate bomb blast incidents hit the states of Assam and Manipur while the 70th Independence Day was being celebrated across the nation on Monday.

Reports said that four low-intensity explosions took place in Tinsukia district while another blast took place in Sivasagar area of Assam.

In Manipur, two medium-intensity IED blasts took place in Imphal West district.

No casualties were reported in all cases.

Tinsukia was in panic grip after ULFA militants shot dead two people and injured seven in the past few days.

Earlier this month, several incidents of explosion have occurred in Manipur. A seven-year old child was injured in a blast targeting a Border Security Force (BSF) camp in Moirang Purel village near Imphal.
