New Delhi: Indian Intelligence authorities arrested one suspected Pakistani spy on Friday in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan. The suspected individual's movements had been closely followed for an extended period of time.
“The accused who identified himself as Nandu is a Pakistani national and entered the country on visa,” said UR Sahoo, ADG Intelligence.
The official added that the suspect was found under suspicious circumstances in Jaisalmer. "He was found in suspicious circumstances in Jaisalmer on Thursday and was interrogated. He is now being taken to Jaipur. He will be placed under arrest later," he said.
Officials are currently engaged in interrogation and are probing his local connections which may lead to more arrests.
Jaisalmer is located 575 kilometres west of the state capital of Jaipur.
