New Delhi: In what comes as a good news for the refugees from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan living in India on long-term visa, the government has decided to provide more sops to them. They will now be able to avail facilities such as opening bank accounts and purchasing properties.

The government has decided to provide these facilities in order to provide the refugees a comfortable living without any complexities and giving them opportunities just like the other citizens of India.

The refugees including Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, Jains, Parsis and Sikhs will now be able to get Long Term Visa (LTV) for five years. Also, they can now submit affidavit in place of renunciation certificate for their work-related things.

Children of refugees would now be able to apply in schools and colleges without taking permission from the state government and can apply for admission under foreign quota.

Other facilities include applying for Aaadhar card, PAN card, driving license and also to take permission for self-employment.

This has come as a huge relief for the persecuted Hindus and Sikhs living in India on LTVs.

This announcement also stands in compliance with the pre-poll commitment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during 2014 Lok Sabha elections where he had mentioned about accommodating the non-Muslims who were living in India due to persecution.
