New Delhi: A story of brutal horror emerged from Malda in the Indian state of West Bengal where neigbours chopped off the palms of a mother and her daughters for alleged theft of a cell phone.
The monstrous neighbours then took away the chopped limbs of the daughter when the daughter's family tried to save the young girl.
The mother, Rofia Bibi, and her daughters Dilwara Khatun (19) and Kusum Khatun (12) are currently undergoing treatment at Malda Medical College and are said to be in critical condition.
Reports claim that doctors have been able to stitch back Dilwara's palm as they treat Kusum who was repeatedly thrashed with a blunt object.
The accused are absconding as police continue hunt for the criminals.
The husband, Mahibar Sheikh, has lodged a police complaint against his neighbor, his neighbor's wife and their two brothers.
