New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday arrested a senior divisional material manager of South East Central Railway, Nagpur for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000.
The agency reportedly caught the accused red handed while demanding and accepting the money in his office. CBI also conducted a search at the office and the residence of the accused. A case has been registered for allegedly demanding the bribe from a railway supplier.
In a separate case, CBI has arrested a senior divisional material manager of railway for receiving bribe for clearing bills of contractors.
The accused allegedly demanded an illegal gratification of Rs 1.01 lakh for awarding canteen tender and clearing his pending bills.
