New Delhi: Ministry of Defence in its probe on Thursday came out with their statement about the Scorpene leak documents that were posted by news agency The Australian. The MoD on its examination found that the documents posted on the website pose no threat to the security of India. They said the important parameters mentioned in the document have been blacked out.
The probe conducted by the MoD also shows that the leaked documents are dated and they contain information about Royal Malaysian, Russian and French submarines as well.
As per current reports, the ministry has claimed that the leak of the documents related to Indian Navy’s submarine, Scorpene has not taken place from India.
Initially, the Navy had launched a probe into the matter when news about documents related to the submarine Scorpene getting leaked came into light. A probe into the matter was then launched by the MoD on Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar’s instructions.
The matter has now been taken up with DG of Armament of French government.
However, the Indian Navy on Wednesday also assured that the issue of Scorpene leaked documents is nothing to be alarmed about because the final product of the submarine which will be manufactured will not be the same as the specifications agreed upon earlier.
