New Delhi: Around midnight in a house at Mewat district in Haryana, around a dozen man clad in only their undergarments barged into a house and gang-raped two women which included a minor. The men also brutally beat a couple to death.

Occuring in Dhingeri village, one of the sexual assault victims told the police that she and her three cousins were asleep inside the house and other family members were sleeping outside when she heard screams and yelling around midnight on Wednesday.

The men who were clad in undergarments and was fully lubricated, tied the men in the house and beat them with iron rods and sticks. At least three among the dozen men took turns in raping the women which included a married woman and her 16-year-old minor cousin.

Not only raping the women, the robbers ransacked the house and searched around for cash and jewellery. One of the women confirmed that the robbers were clothed only in their undergarments and was lubricated with oil. The rest of the villagers were informed of the incident when one of the family members managed to flee from the dacoits.

Police suspect that the assailants might have been the notorious Kachcha banian gang who lubricated their under-clothed bodies to escape being captured.

The Manohar Lal Khattar-state has been reeling under severe situation of unrestrained violence against women where accused roam freely without being persecuted by the law. The recent Bulandshahr gangrape is one such incidence.
