New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said, “Transformation of India cannot happen without transformation of governance. We need is a collective opening of our minds, and to let in the new, global perspectives.”
He was the chief guest for a NITI Aayog event based on the theme of ‘Transforming India’ and gave an inspiring lecture on how India is moving ahead from a developing nation to a developed one.
“There was a time when the elders of the family used to advice to the younger generations but now with the technological advancements the time has changed,” the PM said.
PM Modi also mentioned that his plan for India is not of gradual evolution but rather one of rapid transformation and no country can afford any longer to develop in isolation.
Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Sahnmurugatnam was also present at the event and spoke on ‘India in the Global Economy’.
The event is currently under way and a panel discussion is being moderated by NITI Aayog vice chairman Arvind Panagariya, with NK Singh, Bimal Jalan and Vijay Kelkar as the panellists.
