New Delhi: The Maharashtra Assembly's Lower house on Monday passed unanimously the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Constitutional Amendment Bill. The Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar tabled a resolution in the Assembly to ratify the bill.
The Maharashtra legislative assembly had a special sitting to consider ratification of the GST Bill.

The GST Bill that was passed in the Parliament last month needs 16 states to ratify it before it could be sent for presidential consent.
So far, nine states have ratified the bill.
