Hyderabad: In a tragic incident in Hyderabad, an auto driver lost his life after being hit by a police vehicle that was a part of the security convoy of Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy in Nalgonda district of Telangana.
The deceased was later identified as One G Jangaiah, a 55-year-old auto driver. Further disclosing the matter, the police officer said that the incident occurred at around 5PM near Kurmed village that comes under the Chintapally mandal. They also confirmed that when the auto driver was hit by the police vehicle the convoy had already left. It was only later that the police vehicle ran into the auto.
The 55-year-old auto driver was severely injured after the police vehicle rammed into the auto. The auto driver was later shifted to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
After the incident occurred, a release from Home Minister’s office said, “The vehicle (involved in the mishap) was not a convoy vehicle. After the Minister crossed the limits of the district area, the vehicle went back to the district police headquarters.”
It further said that action will be taken in the case as per law.
