New Delhi: In the recent defamation case filed by the RSS against Rahul Gandhi, the Congress vice president on Thursday withdrew his plea from the Supreme Court for quashing of a defamation case against him for his alleged remark stating “RSS ke logon ne Gandhiji ko goli mari”.

As per the latest development, Rahul Gandhi’s counsel Kapil Sibal told the Supreme Court that the congress vice president stands by his remark against RSS and is ready to face the trial.

Rahul Gandhi also withdrew his plea from the Supreme Court for quashing of the defamation case filed by the RSS to face a trail in the lower court. Meanwhile the Supreme Court refused to grant Rahul Gandhi an exemption from personal appearance in the lower court.

The case is pending before a magisterial court in Bhiwandi in Thane district of Maharashtra.
