New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is facing a strong opposition from academicians and VHP members ahead of her visit to Vatican for canonisation of Mother Teresa.
As per the protesters, a foreign affairs minister of a secular country should not attend a religious function.
Mother Teresa is set to be canonised as Catholic saint on September 4 in a Pope Francis-led open-air mass.
Earlier, some sections in the Sangh Parivar had also opposed Indian government’s representation at the mass.
