Deoria: The Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is all set to begin his 2500 kilometre Kisan Yatra from Deoria-Delhi on Tuesday. The rally is going to be the longest one in his political career.
With the aim of bringing an end to Congress’ 27-year long political exile in Uttar Pradesh, Rahul Gandhi is all set to take the responsibility on his shoulders. The campaign has been initiated with the aim of securing rights of the poor, farmers and labourers in government resources.
The slogan of the yatra is going to be — “Karza maaf, bijili half, samarthan mulya ka karo hisab.” The slogan succeeds in summing up Rahul Gandhi’s promises to the farmers of UP including reduction in electricity bills, reduced power tariff, better support price for crops etc.
The Yatra will be marked by door-to-door campaign where in the party workers will be collecting Kisan Mangpatras (list of farmers’ demands), Khaat (cot) Sabhas will be organised in order to have one-on-one interaction with the farmers.
Even the party workers would be provided with ‘karyakarta margdarshika,’ which will inform the workers on how to get ‘Kisan mangpatras’ filled out. The booklet also targets the state government and centre, indicating its “indifferent attitude” towards the farmers. For this reason, the party workers have been asked to raise the slogan — “Kisan trast, Sarkar mast, Congress kisano ka sacchi sathi.”
Road shows would also be held at various places by Rahul Gandhi during this long yatra.
