New Delhi: The Government is all set to launch a new system ‘DigiLocker+’ that will enable drivers to keep a soft copy of their driving licence handy instead of carrying smart cards, driving licence or vehicle registration books.
The system will have a smartphone app on which an individual can store all the information. The service will also help the govt in maintaining a centralised registry of vehicles.
Drivers will need an Aadhaar card and a cell phone number that can be linked up for opening an account. After the registration, they can save their documents in secured DigiLocker setup which can be verified by the traffic police and other law enforcement agencies as and when there is a check-post.
