New Delhi: The all-party delegation, which met to discuss the unrest in Kashmir, came down heavily upon the Jammu and Kashmir government and held it responsible for the worsening of the situation in the Valley.
The all-party delegation said that it is the state government that failed to manage the upheavals that the Valley was facing following the encounter of the Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani. It was also said that the situation was worse in rural south Kashmir where the government had not made inroads to satiate the unrest among the locals.
The statement was made in a meeting held on Wednesday with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in the national capital. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was also a part of the meeting.
The attack has been made after the all-party delegation, comprising 26 lawmakers from 20 parties, visited Kashmir earlier this week in order to discuss about the simmering tension prevailing in the Valley.
Rajnath Singh had also mentioned that decision on Kashmir would be announced after taking feedbacks and suggestions from the all-party delegation.
All-party delegation has also demanded that pellet guns usage should be stooped. Also, they have asked for the curfew to be lifted and schools be re-opened.
