Seven bodies have been recovered from the Tungabhadra river as search & rescue OPs continue

Shivamogga, Karnataka: At least 8 people drowned in Tungabhadra river on Wednesday when their coracle capsized during the immersion of Ganesha idol. 
As per the reports, the group from Hadonahalli village had gone to immerse Ganesha idols in a coracle on Wednesday afternoon which overturned in the river later. 
Seven bodies have been recovered from the spot while search and rescue operations continue in the area. 
Taking note of the incidence, the district authority has banned swimming, sailing and immersion of idols to prevent any accident in future.
