New Delhi: Delhi Police on Wednesday nabbed a man on the charges of chopping off the head of his wife’s ex-husband whom he suspected of keeping in touch with her even after the divorce.
The accused was later identified as Mukesh, a 35-year-old cab driver from Gurgaon, who is a resident of Mangolpuri area. From past few weeks, Mukesh was suspicious of his wife Priyanka of frequently meeting her ex-husband Rohit, following which Mukesh with the help of Priyanka’s juvenile brother planned to get rid of Rohit.
Further disclosing the matter, DCP, Vikramjit Singh, said, “Acting on a missing complaint filed by Rohit’s father Ashok Kumar on September 6 we nabbed Mukesh and his brother-in-law. Later, they confessed to their involvement in Rohit’s disappearance and murder.”
Vijay and Ashraf, friends of Mukesh, accused of helping in the crime, were also arrested.
While disclosing the gruesome incident, the main accused, Mukesh told police that he invited Rohit on August 9 at his residence and they consumed liquor. As per the plan he took Rohit for a long drive in his employer’s vehicle and during the drive they made him drink alcohol following which they reached Dwarka-Gurgaon Expressway area where they strangled him.
The severed head of the victim was put in a polythene bag and buried in a park in Sector 20 of Dwarka which was later recovered by police.
