Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government is planning to launch subsidized meals for the poor in the state. The programme is expected to be announced on September 25 on Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s birth anniversary.
Priced at Rs 10, the ‘thali’ will have a full meal comprising roti, dal, sabzi, rice and pickle.
The Shivraj Singh Chouhan govt has decided to launch the meal programme in Gwalior, Bhopal, Indore and Jabalpur.
“This is an ambitious programme – a part of the strategy for assembly elections in 2018,” sources in the party said.
