Ujjain: A group of unknown people allegedly vandalised a toll plaza and assaulted its staffers at Ninora village in Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh, police said on Saturday.

The incident took place on Friday night, when a group of 40-50 people with their faces covered, ransacked the Mahakal toll plaza damaging property worth lakhs.

They also beat up the staff.

This is the second attack on the toll plaza in last two months, toll plaza manager Prashant Rathi said.

The police are examining the footage and the inquiry is underway.

"We are trying to identify them on the basis of CCTV footage and have registered a case against unidentified persons in this regard," police said.
