New Delhi: In a fresh jolt to the Aam Admi Party’s diminishing reputation, MLA Somnath Bharti on Sunday was charged for misbehaving with the security personnel of AIIMS.
An FIR has been lodged against the AAP MLA and his supporters for allegedly misbehaving with security guards of AIIMS at Hauz Khas police station in the national capital. Somnath Bharti represents the Malviya Nagar constituency.
The chief security officer of AIIMS had registered a complaint against Bharti for damaging government property and misbehaving with security personnel on September 9.
AAP MLA, Bharti has been booked under various sections of Indian Penal code (IPC) including 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 186 (Obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 147 (Rioting), 148 (Rioting armed with a deadly weapon)
Previously, Bharti had also been charged in a case of domestic violence case which was filed against him by his wife Lipika Mitra. However, later he was granted bail.
