Pargat Singh resigns from SAD

New Delhi: On Monday, former hockey captain-turned politician, Pargat Singh, resigned from Shiromi Akali Dal (SAD) after accusing the party chief, Sukhbir Singh Badal of betraying the trust of people of Punjab.

Parghat Singh, the legislator from Jalandhar cantonment, who was recently suspended from SAD party for his alleged anti-party activities, sent his resignation to Sukhbir Singh Badal.

In his message to Badal, Pargat wrote, “I resign from the primary membership of the party. You (Sukhbir) have betrayed the trust of people of Punjab”.

Eyeing the upcoming Punjab Polls, former BJP MLA Navjot Singh Sidhu had formed a political party 'Aawaaz-e-Punjab' along with Pargat Singh and Bains brothers in Punjab.
