New Delhi: A major fire broke out at Delhi’s famous Gaffar market in Karol Bagh on Tuesday night. Eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames, officials said.
The fire broke out at 11 pm at the crown towers building in Gaffar market area and was brought under control after an hour, a Delhi Fire Service officer said.
Officials from the fire department said the blaze had spread to other floors of the building where the rooms were stacked with plastic and electronics goods. Most of the floors of the building were damaged, they added.
The cause of fire and extent of damage was not known. However, police suspected the possibility of a short circuit.
