New Delhi: Wanted 'shooter' Mohammad Kaif on Wednesday claimed that he had a ‘brotherly’ relation with the slain journalist Rajdev Ranjan.

Kaif, who was spotted with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Mohammad Shahabuddin last week said that Ranjan also attended his wedding.

Claiming that he is not a criminal, Kaif said, “Will speak to my lawyer and proceed accordingly. Siwan public and journalists know that I am not a criminal.”

“I am a cricketer and I train boys. This accusation (murder of Rajdev Ranjan) is false.”

Kaif added that he has been a supporter of the RJD-led government. “I am an only child. Would any parent make their only son criminal? Tejashwi Yadav is my youth icon and I wanted to come into politics,” he said.

On Tuesday, soon after the image of Kaif and Shahabuddin surfaced, wife of the deceased journalist Rajdev Ranjan demanded that the persons involved in her husband’s murder case should be punished. Asha called out to the state Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to take action against criminals out on bail.
