New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday underwent a five-hour throat surgery in Bengaluru, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government said.

"Doctors say all parameters are normal," a Delhi government official said here after the surgery to cure persistent cough. The official gave no further details.

A diabetic, Kejriwal is likely to be in the Bengaluru hospital for about a week under medical observation.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday targeted Delhi's AAP government over the deaths due to dengue and chikungunya, and asked the CM to quit if he is unable to act.

With three Delhi government ministers, including the Health and Chief Minister, outside Delhi, the opposition stepped up its attack on the AAP government as more deaths due to vector-borne diseases were reported in the capital.

BJP questioned the expenditure on AAP ministers' foreign trips and questioned why ministers were out of the state when people needed them the most.

Strange Cough!

Never heard of a surgery being done for a cough. Something's amiss somewhere.
