Singh says, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister is like a son to him

New Delhi: Referring to Akhilesh Yadav's “outsiders” remark, Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh on Wednesday said the former never called him outsider. He said that the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister is like a son to him.

Singh added that he shares a brotherly relationship with SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Akhilesh, after being replaced as the SP chief by his uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav, said that that outsiders were meddling in party affairs. In an indirect reference to Singh, Akhilesh said there were "some outsiders" who were trying to influence the government decisions.

Meanwhile the Chief Minister said that his conflict with uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav was a ‘sarkari ladai’ (government battle), not a family feud.

"This is a tussle in the government, not the family,” he said.

He added that he always did what Samajwadi Party leader and his father Mulayam Singh Yadav told him to do.

On Tuesday, the SP appointed Shivpal Yadav to replace UP CM Akhilesh Yadav as the state party president. The decision of giving the command of state party president to Shivpal Yadav came from the party chief Mulayam.
