New Delhi: After criminal-turned-politician Shahabuddin's controversial bail, more reasons for consternation are cropping up as criminals are blatantly posing with prominent personalities. Journalist Rajdeo Ranjan, who was shot dead in his office on May 13, was alleged killed by a man who was recently seen with Bihar minister and Lalu Yadav's son Tej Pratap Yadav.
Ranjan's wife has approached the Supreme Court seeking probe and trial in her husband's murder case to be shifted to Delhi from Bihar. In her petition, Asha Ranjan says that Mohammad Kaif was seen with Shahabuddin and the state health minister.
"If the police is deliberately not arresting Kaif and the health minister is taking photographs with proclaimed offenders, the life of Rajdeo Ranjan's wife and her two minor children is at stake," Kishlay Panday, Ranjan's advocate, was quoted as saying.
Not only for Ranjan's sensational murder, Kaif is also a wanted criminal for other crimes including extortion and looting.
Shahabuddin's involvement in the murder of Rajdeo Ranjan is being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as he is suspected to have ordered the killing of Ranjan.
However, when approached with the question, Yadav said, "They (the BJP) bring some photograph from somewhere and make some false allegations. How would I know who is a shooter from the 1,000 people who click photos with me?"
