New Delhi: In further trouble for Comedian Kapil Shamra, a suburban district collector has ordered an FIR against all those owning bungalows on Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) land at Versova who destroyed mangroves to extend their properties.
On Monday, officials from the forest department's mangrove conservation cell and the state revenue department conducted survey of plot numbers 70 and 71, where Kapil Sharma's bungalow is, after mangroves were reported to have been destroyed.
“There is a massive violation at the site. Mangroves have been destroyed through the dumping of debris,” said Makarand Ghotge, assistant conservator of forest, state mangrove cell. “We will file a report with the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) as the land belongs to them and the revenue department that there has been a violation of the Environment Protection Act, 1972. Following this, they will file an FIR against violators.”
The comedian had last week tweeted that BMC officials demanded bribe from him over the extensions in his Versova office.
